Ready-to-Work

Good workers, with the right attitude and appropriate skills are needed by all our tourism/hospitality operations. Canada's tourism industry is a prime area of employment growth for this country's people. As members of the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council, the Yukon Tourism Education Council is part of a program to help create a first-class tourism workforce.
  • Ready-to-Work provides valuable career planning and skill development for the world's fastest growing industry
  • A job that can lead to a highly skilled, professional career
  • The chance to network with tourism industry representatives
  • The opportunity to achieve nationally-recognized certification as a tourism professional
This program consists of 90 hours of classroom training, which covers such things as: General Knowledge of Tourism, Safety/Sanitation, Office Operations, Communication Skills, Numeracy Skills, Job Search Skills, and extra certification in Welcome Yukon, WHMIS, Standard First Aid/CPR C, and FoodSafe Level I. Upon completion of the required hours, the student will qualify for National Occupational Certification in a career of their choice in any one of the eight sectors of Tourism.
