Canada's tourism industry is a prime area of employment growth for this country's people. As members of the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council, the Yukon Tourism Education Council is part of a program to help create a first-class tourism workforce.

This program consists of 90 hours of classroom training, which covers such things as: General Knowledge of Tourism, Safety/Sanitation, Office Operations, Communication Skills, Numeracy Skills, Job Search Skills, and extra certification in Welcome Yukon, WHMIS, Standard First Aid/CPR C, and FoodSafe Level I. Upon completion of the required hours, the student will qualify for National Occupational Certification in a career of their choice in any one of the eight sectors of Tourism. The National Occupational Certification provides standards in the tourism industry, which provides recognition and credentials that are recognized across Canada.
